- Ensuring all staff and subcontractors are aware of their role in carbon reduction.
4. Targets
- Achieve a reduction of at least 30% in operational (vehicle, plant, electricity) emissions by 2030 compared to baseline.
- Increase the use of low-carbon materials, minimise waste to landfill, and reduce transport emissions over the same period.
5. Actions
Key steps we will take include:
- Transitioning our vehicle fleet and site plant towards more efficient and low-emission equipment where practical.
- Optimising logistics (delivery consolidation, efficient routing) and reducing unnecessary travel.
- Specifying materials with lower embodied carbon, encouraging reuse, recycling and waste reduction on site.
- Improving energy efficiency in our offices and site accommodation (LED lighting, smart controls, renewable supply where viable).
- Providing training and raising awareness among all staff and subcontractors on carbon-reduction practices.
6. Monitoring & Reporting
- We will measure fuel, electricity usage, materials and waste data annually (or more frequently for major sites).
- Progress will be reviewed at least annually and reported to senior management.
- Adjustments to our actions and targets will be made where necessary to drive continuous improvement.
7. Roles & Responsibilities
- Managing Director: Approves the policy, ensures resources are available.
- Project Managers: Implement carbon-reduction measures on each project and collect relevant data.
- Procurement / Buyers: Select low-carbon materials and suppliers compliant with our objectives.
